Writing Grants

  • How to Navigate Grant Writing Lingo: Grant writing has its own language and Holly will break down all the lingo on the different types of grants and what it all means.
  • Understanding the Myths & Truths of Grants: It's important for you to understand what is true about grants and what are the myths as you develop budgets and projects. Think you can charge for any grant writing? Holly will show you what to do and what NOT to do.
  • How to write S.M.A.R.T. Objectives: Developing goals, objectives, activities, and timelines are the backbone to your projects. Understand what grant reviewers are looking for and get ahead of the curve in writing up the best blueprint of a grant.
  • How to Wordsmith a Budget! What? Did you think a budget was just numbers? Nope. For grants you need a line-by-line (number) budget, which Holly will provide, but you also need a written budget justification. Find out how many quotes you need for categories and expenses, what you can include in a budget, and how to make your budget reasonable.
  • All downloadable templates (including a budget!): You will get all downloadable templates and a hard copy of the newest book, "The Beginner's Grant Writing Guide".
  • Where and how to Find Statistics to Support your Needs: Yes, you do need statistics to back up your needs and problem statement. Where do you find them? How old can they be? What all do you need? How do you create a Needs & Strengths Assessment? Holly will go over everything that you need to create an awesome score!

Tuesday, June 4th
